YOLK was an idea grown by Nicola Smith, a Canberra native with years of experience working with other creative people in advertising, sales and marketing and commercial fit-out and furniture.
Nicola created and officially launched YOLK in July 2010, offering interior decorating and design services to residential and small commercial clients in the Canberra region.
The growing YOLK team has a passion for design, architecture and interiors, and beautiful, fully resolved furniture.
We love what we do. We promote reusing, recycling and sourcing locally where possible. See YOLK philosophy for more about what's important to us.
Realising an opportunity to create a platform where authentic pre-loved furniture could be sold and purchased, YOLK evolved to offer consignment services.
We believe original design is an investment.
It doesn't have to be brand new or expensive!
YOLK is a member of the Authentic Design Alliance (ADA), an association which exists to support the integrity of original, authentic design.
